He also visited Life Skills Education (LSE) Session for the young people at Ranguniya organized by ‘AWAC’ the strategic Partner YPSA. YPSA official Syed Assraf Ullah, Md. YPSA consortium organized ‘Flip Chart launching & Orientation Program’ for the peer educator (Garments Worker) at Zilla Shilpakola Academy, Chittagong on 9 February. 30 Master Trainers & 200 Peer Educators attended the program. Prof. Dr. A Q M Serajul Islam, Advisor of YPSA consortium & Ex. Head of Department - Dermatology & STDs of Chittagong Medical College chaired the program.

Comilla District Administration and Narcotic's Department jointly organized Rally, Discussion Meeting & cultural program to create mass awareness against Drugs. YPSA took part in the program. RONOJ Cultural Team staged a drama titled SHAPNA BANGAR GHAAN (The song of breaking dream) at the Comilla Town Hall with the support of YPSA. Abdul Malek, DC of Comilla was the Chief Guest in the occasion.

To ensure the water & sanitation facilities in cyclone shelter cum school during the disaster period YPSA is going to install the watsan facilities with support from Concern Universal- Bangladesh & Irish Aid. M.A.H. Humayan Kabir, Upazilla Nirbahi Officer Mr. Safayat Hossain Raju, Upazilla Chairmanof Pekua Upazilla inaugurated the installation ceremony of water and sanitation facilities at Pekua under Cox's Bazar on 15 February.

Babul Nath, President of Moholanga Self-help organization and Shafiq Chowdhury, President of Kumadan Para Self-help organization have been elected general secretary of Coordination Committee of 40 Self-help organizations respectively. The election was held at Sitakund Office. With the support of YPSA, 40 Self-help organizations were established for the people with disabilities in the different area of Sitakund. There is a coordination committee residing for the self-help organizations and every year new committee forms through a convention.
YPSA and Unnayan Shomonnoy jointly organized meeting on “importance of tax mounting to control tobacco use” at Chittagong on 6 February. Moin Uddin Khan Badol, Member of Parliament was present as the chief guest. Dr. Julfikar Ali, Project Chief, Unnayan Shomonnoy presided the meeting. Dr. Mahfuz Kabir, Economist, Dr. AQM Sirajul Islam, Omar Kaisar, Journalist, Monowara Begum Moni, Panel Mayor of Ctg. The regional MPOWER/FCTC workshop held from 3rd to 8th February 2010 in Bangkok, Thailand organized by The UNION. The workshop was based on the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC) and the six elements of the MPOWER package of policy measures: M – Monitor tobacco use and prevention policies, P – Protect people from tobacco smoke, O – Offer help to quit tobacco use, W – Warn about the dangers of tobacco, E – Enforce bans on tobacco advertising, promotion and sponsorship and R – Raise taxes on tobacco. A total of 53 Participants from Bangladesh, India, Srilanka, Nepal, Indonesia, Thailand and China participated in the workshop. Nasim Banu, Team Leader, Smoke free project of YPSA has participated in the workshop.
Chittagong based Non Government Organizations and Chittagong District Administration jointly published a booklet titled “Unnayan Thikana” was launched at Chittagong District Administration Office on 16 February. Contents of the booklet are Information regarding different voluntary organizations that are working on various development issues besides the government initiatives like raising awareness among the people against domestic violence, Anti corruption, empowering woman, climate change, poverty alleviation, child rights, birth registration, education and many more. Farid Uddin Ahmed, District Commissioner, Chittagong presided the launching ceremony. Mr. Ehsan Elahi and Mr. Mohammad Zaker Hossain, Additional District Commissioner, Chittagong, Shahidul Islam, YPSA Official spoke at the program.
Shaikh Altaf Ali, Secretary, Ministry of Health & Family welfare, Government of Bangladesh and Prof. Dr. Shah Monir Hossain, Director General, Health Department visited ongoing activities of YPSA-GFATM Package#902 program at Cox’s bazaar on 26 February. They attend a session titled “Life Skills Education (LSE)” organized by YPSA’s strategic Partner ‘PHALS’. The LSE session for the young people is organized regularly aiming to raise awareness on HIV and STDs among the young people.

YPSA and Young Journalist Change makers Forum (YJCF) jointly observed International Mother Language Day 2010 in Chittagong. A colorful Rally was begun from Nazrul Square and ended at Central Shahid Minar and participants placed wreaths at the Shahid Minar showing their deep respects and gratitude to the heroes of the Language Movement. Discussion Meeting on this day have also been organized.
