Royal Norwegian Embassy, Royal Danish Embassy and IOM Team visited YPSA PPVHT-B project
 Bangladesh treated as a source and transit country for Human Trafficking. It is established by the various local and international reports. Every year many people include adolescent boys and girls being trafficked form our country. International Organization for Migration (IOM) has been working globally since many years to combat against trafficking. To more focusing this issue IOM implementing a new integrated project named “Prevention and Protection of Victims of Human Trafficking in Bangladesh (PPVHT-B) funded by The Royal Norwegian Embassy and The Royal Danish Embassy. The project area covered selected 22 priority districts in Bangladesh and 11 NGOs have been selected for those districts. YPSA is one of the selected NGO. The project is a collaborative effort of IOM and Ministry of Women and Children Affairs of the Bangladesh Government.
Goal of the Project:
“Human trafficking situation improved in Bangladesh ”.
 Objective of the project:
To address trafficking in Children, adolescent Girls and Women in Bangladesh through a coordinated and integrated approach.
Project coverage area of YPSA:
YPSA has been working in three districts of Chittagong Division named Feni, Comilla and Brahman Baria Districts.
Project Description:
 The project “Prevention and Protection of Victims of Human Trafficking in Bangladesh ” is a Collaborative effort of IOM and Ministry of Woman and Children Affairs. The project design cover following major activities:
Orient/sensitize GoB and NGO officials through workshops, Strengthen counter trafficking committees, Bazar Meetings, FGD with local elites, teachers, religious leaders and parents, Courtyard meetings with vulnerable groups, Community Based cultural events etc. YPSA already completed 3 district level sensitization workshop of awareness raising for GoB and NGO officials at the district level.

Report of the District workshops:
YPSA arrange a half day long sensitization workshop on PPVHT-B Project in Feni, Comilla and Brahman Baria at DC conference room on 24-26 February 2008. The project team of IOM and YPSA facilitated and supported the workshops.
Feni District:
 The workshop presided over by ADC (Revenue) Mr. Md. Khaled Abu Naser where Mr. Jervell Kristian, Charge the Affairs of The Royal Norwegian Embassy , Ms. Zakia K. Hassan, National Program Officer and Team Leader, PPVHT-B project, IOM, MRF Dhaka. Mr. Hans Hoffmeyer, Senior Advisor/ Head of DANIDA PSU, Mr. Morshed Ahmed, Finance Controller/ Development advisor, The Royal Norwegian Embassy, Md. Sarder M. Asaduzzaman, Program Officer, DANIDA PSU and Ms. Asma Khatun, Project coordinator, IOM were presented as special guest. All the district level Govt. Officials, NGO – CSO representatives and journalists were attended in the workshop.
After this workshop all visitors visited the FGD with LEB (Local Elected Body) of Suvhapur union parishad and Courtyard meeting at Matua village.
Comilla District:
The workshop presided over by DC Mr. Md. Monjurur Rahman where Mr. Jervell Kristian, Charge the Affairs of The Royal Norwegian Embassy, Ms. Zakia K. Hassan, National Program Officer and Team Leader, PPVHT-B project, IOM, MRF Dhaka, Mr. Md. Assaduzzaman ,CEO of Zilla Parishad, Mr. Md. Jamal Hossain, ADC(General) , Mr. Md. Abdul Matin Patoary, C.S, Ms. Ferdous Akhter from MWAO,UNOs, NDC Mr. Md. Yusuf, Mr. Morshed Ahmed, Finance Controller/ Development advisor of The Royal Norwegian Embassy, Ms. Asma Khatun, Project coordinator, IOM were presented as a special guest. All the district level Govt. officials, NGO – CSO representatives and journalists were attended in the workshop.
After this workshop all visitors visited and participated the Bazar Meeting at the Bibir Bazar in Jagannath pur union parishad and visit villages near by border area.
Brahman Baria District:
