Art exhibition themed on “What do children believe in?” held
YPSA arranged an Art exhibition themed on “What do children believe in?” at YPSA Head Office on 16 March. Children at ages ranging from 4 to 16 attended the Art competition. The art project “What do children believe in?” supported by Little ART desires to motivate each child to explore the world around
him in terms of this art topic. Furthermore, the project wishes to develop each child’s artistic potential and expressive skills. Another goal of the project is to find out what kinds of value systems children of different age groups and cultural backgrounds experience.
Training for school management committee and community volunteer groups in Coxs Bazar
To ensuring the disaster friendly watsan facilities in the cyclone shelters, A Three-day training workshop for the School Management Committee and Community Volunteer groups held during 16- 18 March'10 at Pekua Upazilla Conference room. From 10 cyclone shelters 30 School Management Committee members and 50 Community Volunteers participated in this three batch training. CUB and YPSA jointly conducted the training. Shyfun Nahar Popy from CUB and Gazi Md. Mainuddin from YPSA facilitated this training workshop.

YPSA observed World Consumers Rights Day '10 in Comilla on 15 March. YPSA, CAB, BLAST, UNITED PEOPLES TRUST, DISTRICT CONSUMER RIGHTS PROTECTION COMITTEE & CUSTOMER CLUB jointly organized a rally & discussion meeting at District Commissioner Office of Comilla to mark the day. The rally was inaugurated by Bahauddin Bahar, Member of Parliament. Pronob kumar ghosh Acting DC of Comilla presided the discussion meeting.
Orientation program on Actions to Combat Trafficking-in-Persons (ACT) Program at Cox'sbazar
YPSA has started Actions to Combat Trafficking-in-Persons (ACT) Program in Chittagong Division with the support of Winrock International & USAID. An orientation program on ACT program was held at District Commissioner Office Conference Hall on 9 March. DC of Cox’sbazar was present as chief guest in the meeting. Ms. Lisa S. Hammond, Chief of party, ACT program & Md. Arifur Rahman Chief Executive of YPSA were present in the meeting. Government Officials & NGO representative from Comilla, Feni, Rangamati, Banderban, Chittagong and Cox'sbazar district participated at the program.
Seminar on “Women’s Day and Women Empowerment: Bangladesh Perspective” held
“Male domination and subordination of women are the underlying tenants of the country's social structure. Men have the economic control and therefore are the decision makers. Women's lives are dominated by a highly restricted social structure. Although women contribute to the family, often their efforts are not valued.” Speakers said at a seminar on “Women’s Day and Women Empowerment: Bangladesh Perspective” jointly organized by Bangladesh Mahila Parishad and YPSA with the support of Alliance to End Domestic Violence against Women in Chittagong on 9 March. Paribarik Nirjaton Protirodh Jote (Alliance to End Domestic Violence against Women) and YPSA jointly organized Change Makers Convention 2010' at Sitakund on 9 March. Abdullah Al Baker Bhuiyan, Chairman of Upazila Parishad, Sitakund was present as chief guest at the function chaired by Shamsuddin Bhuiyan Tutul, President of YPSA’s executive committee.
